Capacity Building and Daily Living

Practical, goal-directed sessions that build the everyday skills needed to live more independently — cooking, self-care, community access and daily routines.

Capacity building is occupational therapy focused on doing — rather than assessing. Sessions are practical and hands-on, working with the person on the real tasks and routines that matter to them. An occupational therapist works alongside the person in their home or community, breaking down the skills involved in daily activities, building them up gradually and putting strategies in place that last. The goal is always greater independence and confidence in everyday life, not ongoing reliance on therapy.
